Airline Trainee Pilot Program
Follow your dream of becoming an Airline Pilot
A Leader in Quality Aviation
In the Airline Trainee Pilot program, we train you for private pilot, instrument pilot, commercial pilot, and multi-engine pilot. This course is for 14 months and we will train you for your FAA, GCAA, and DGCA licenses.
We, SFA & ATP Aviation Academy is trusted across India for our training standards.
Flying happens in the USA (Miami) for approximately 10 months (258 hours according to FAA standards), where you would be getting your FAA license. Then we take you for type-rating in Dubai where you will get your GCAA license. Post that, you will come back to India to give your conversion exam for your DGCA license.

DGCA Ground Classes (Most affordable in India)
- DGCA Ground Training in Navi Mumbai
- Free Consultation with Airline Pilots
- All Subjects Inclusive:
- Navigation (INR 40,000): Navigation is one of the two vast subjects in DGCA CPL ground classes where you’ll be studying in a lot of detail about how to go from point A to point B, What are graticules? what are latitudes? what are longitudes? For example, in magnetic directions, you also study how to read and apply maps and charts while navigating an aeroplane. You also need instruments in aircraft to fly and check about other parameters which you would study in instrumentation, You would learn how they are built, what are the working principles behind them, how you interpret data, and how you navigate using them in flying.
- Regulations (INR 20,000): Just like we need to follow certain traffic rules down on the road similarly we have certain set rules to be followed and abide by up in the air. Some countries might have their own traffic rules, for example, let’s say in India we use the left lane for driving while in other countries most countries use the right lane for driving. But if the same thing was to happen up in the air it would be very chaotic because there are a lot of international flights. It will be very hectic for a pilot to learn all the different rules of all the countries that he’s flying to so the solution to get out of all this chaos ICAO or the International Civil Aviation Organisation along with its member countries came up with a set of rules known as regulations and all the member states and contracting states of ICAO abide by these rules. For your information as of date, 193 countries are member states of ICAO so, among a regulation, we study international agreements like the ones specified above, and we study international organizations like ICAO.
- Meteorology (INR 20,000): In meteorology, we study what are the causes behind these dangerous flight hazards and how to avoid them, and since we live in the Indian subcontinent we have to study Indian climatology how the weather patterns and seasons change in different parts of this beautiful country. Lastly, all of the data mentioned above are specified in a coded format known as a METAR or TAF and therefore you will learn how to interpret this coded information so that you have a good prediction of what the weather is going to be on your route or at your destination airport. That is all about the DGCA CPL meteorology subject.
- Technical (INR 40,000): The next subject we need to study for the commercial pilot license is technical general. This is the other vast subject of aviation as the name suggests, in this subject, you study the technicalities of aircraft you study the aircraft airframe and its structure, and most importantly how they have redundancy in it. Then you study flight control surfaces. There are surfaces to change the aircraft’s direction or its altitude these fact control surfaces also require a lot of hydraulic pressure to deflect against the considerable power and force of the airflow flowing over them just give it a hydraulic system. You also have to study other systems like landing gears and how they retract and extend about air conditioning of the aircraft, and how the temperature is controlled. You study fuel systems, emergency fire, and fire fighting services for example fire extinguishers. All of these are a part of aircraft structure but apart from this, you also have to study the basic aerodynamics and principles of flight for example how the wing surface generates lift and gets us airborne and up into the air.
- RTR I&II (INR 20,000): The next two parts will be oral or viva wherein you will be asked questions by two different examiners, one will be from WPC who will be asking you questions for example about radio components, what is superheterodyne, and what’s an amplifier how they work, etc. The other person will be from DGCA who will ask you questions regarding flight information, regions, airspace, etc. So the key here is that you need to know what are the phrases and terminologies of radio telephony language. Most importantly when and how to use them, for example, mayday mayday mayday is a phrase to be used by a pilot who is in distress or in an emergency.
